Darrel and boys
Dear Praying Friends, January 12, 2011
On December 21st we were all checked in at the airport, and in the Post Office mailing some last minute packages, with plenty of time. The computer was very slow, we lost track of time and missed our airplane.
The next space available was in the middle of January. During this extra month in Brazil, we have finished some needed to be done construction projects, prepared our missionary presentation and feel that we are now ready to leave.
At União Baptist Church we baptized six and have had several more decisions for Christ.
These boys live in small houses like the ones in the picture below. The only place to play is in the street; therefore, they love to play “futebol” on our front lawn.
Darrel started charging – memorizing one verse each week.
Then came a story and afterward an invitation to pray and accept Christ. So far several have done this. Please pray that someone from our church will take an interest and integrate these boys into the church program.
January 24, we plan to leave from Rio de Janeiro, for Los Angeles, and then drive on to Phoenix to visit Darrel’s mother. In February we plan to fly to Durham, NC and spend March with our grandsons in North Carolina and Tennessee.
