July 13, 2011 Dear Praying Friends,
Well we are back in Brazil. Our trip was wonderful, so many nice people, but there is nothing like your own bed. We just about did not get back. When we got to the airport in Los Angeles, we had reservations but not e-tickets from Los Angeles to Miami. I finally had to call TAM, the Brazilian airline, and beg them not to leave us stranded in L.A. In Miami the same thing… no tickets from Manaus to Fortaleza. Through it all we remained calm knowing that the Lord was in control.
Once back home we found both churches in good condition. In Juazeiro, Union Baptist had increased in attendance. Usually the attendance goes down when we are away. The S.S. had been organized. Almost everybody was happy. At the beach in Iguape everything was normal except that Pastor Magno’s father is dying with cancer; and in true Brazilian fashion, he has not been told. Although Magno would like to tell him, the rest of the family says no. He does not know the Lord. Please pray for him. Pastor Magno is very concerned.
We just finished a week of Music Camp attended by musicians from all over the state. Here are our six violinists and their teacher playing our donated cello. The violins were donated also. If you have an instrument to donate let us know.
Thank you for praying!
Darrel & Jean
