This year our Christmas will not be so hot as the rainy season has started early, and with it, the temperature is down. We are busy preparing Christmas programs and doing construction projects.
We would like for you to meet Edilson. He is our Christmas present this year. He is 16 and the second of seven children. He is very concerned about his siblings and has brought several to church. So far two have accepted the Lord.
His 19 year old brother lives at home, with his girlfriend, and is addicted to drugs. In recent months he has stolen five cell phones from Edilson. The family plans to move out of town because of “pay up or die” threats.
Edilson asked to hang his hammock in our garage and Darrel put him in our new music room. So now he is our gardener, plays violin in the beginning orchestra and is finishing 5th and 6th grade in an adult program. He has a servant’s heart and participates in our children’s club with the young people.
Construction at União Baptist is moving along slowly. Several of you have given offerings which are being applied. Please pray with us that we will be able to complete this project to reach other families like Edilson’s.
Jean is scheduled for cataract surgery tomorrow, Thursday, December 15.
