Dear Praying Friends,
Here in Northeast Brazil, Good Friday is the holiest day of the year. Businesses start closing at noon on Thursday in preparation.
Our church, União Baptist Church, uses the weekend for evangelization. On Friday, we present the Passion of Christ, which is part of our culture that emphasizes the death but not the resurrection. Saturday evening we celebrate the anniversary of our church – 12 years now. And, on Sunday evening we emphasize the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
To get a good crowd of non-believers, we prepared our children in the Enrichment Program, to sing and play their song flutes. The parents came to see their children. To really guarantee their attendance we promised to give out the school uniforms (T-shirts) for them to wear at the performance. It worked, and after their participation, they saw a film on Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection. Several adults and children prayed to accept Christ as their personal Savior.
The walls on our gym/auditorium are half way up. Thanks for praying. The Lord has sent us a good crew. Now I am soliciting bids for the roof.
Thank you for your part.
